Astana and New Delhi discuss prospects of deepening cooperation within International Solar Alliance discussed
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Nurlan Zhalgasbayev attended the opening ceremony of the 6th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Kazinform Agency learnt from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.
The event was participated by ministers, representatives and delegates from 116 member countries and signatories of the ISA, as well as delegates from potential countries, partner organizations, the private sector and other stakeholders.
During the Assembly A,mbassador Zhalgasbayev had a conversation with Mr. Raj Singh, Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, and discussed the potential for deepening cooperation within the ISA.
For reference: The 6th ISA Assembly is held in New Delhi from October 30 to November 2 this year under the chairmanship of R. Singh, President of the ISA Assembly - Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. The ISA was launched jointly by India and France after COP21 in Paris.
The 6th Assembly of the ISA will deliberate on ISA initiatives that impact energy access, energy security and energy transitions, with a focus on:
Universalisation of energy access through solar mini-grids;
Mobilising Finance for accelerated solar deployment;
Diversifying supply chains and manufacturing for solar.
