Astana completes construction of TPP No3

Astana has completed the construction of Thermal Power Plant No3 and two gas thermal stations, Kazinform News Agency reports citing mayor of the city Zhenis Kassymbek as saying at a briefing today.

As for engineering infrastructure. To provide the new districts of the city with heat, we have completed the construction of the Thermal Power Plant No 3 and two gas thermal stations – Turan and Yugo-Vostok, which generated additional 1,130 Gcal of heat power.

For the first time in recent years, the city entered the heating season with a huge surplus.

Next year we will commission the Telman and then Turan gas thermal stations, which will give additional 800 Gcal of heat, he said.

The mayor added that the work on further construction of heating facilities and on expansion of the TPP capacities will be continued.
