«Astana Dakar Team» announces crew members

ASTANA. July 4. KAZINFORM - Arthur Ardavichus, «Astana Dakar Team» leader, has informed about the athletes of the crew at Astana press conference.

We are honored to enter the Presidential Sports Club "Astana". The crew is new now: in truck competition I will participate driving «Tatra» in a team of 6 trucks; T2 class category will be led by Denis Berezovsky (World Cup winner in 2008 and winner of the Rally Raid «Abu Dhabi Desrt Challenge 2013") will drive an off-road jeep «Nissan Patrol»; and T1 class category will be by Aydin Rakhimbayev and Bauirzhan Isabayev, who will take off-road vehicles of «HiLux Overdrive» model.

"We are preparing for the most prestigious international race called "Dakar 2014". Contract was signed with the Czech team and, thus we drive a «Tatra» truck. It is very powerful, but we need to get used to it as it is completely new with a special design of the chassis - no linearity. There must be a certain style of management. There are lots of tests, training sessions and work with the engineers of the «Tatra» plant to be done", said A.Ardavichus.

"In order to prepare for the upcoming «Dakar», tomorrow three of our crews start the international rally-raid called "Silk Road 2013 ", which is the official World Cup. The rally route runs from Moscow to Astrakhan with a total length of more than 4 thousand miles.
