ASTANA. May 9. KAZINFORM The V Astana Economic Forum will be on May 22-24, 2012 in Astana. The Forum will be devoted to challenges and perspectives of world economic development in conditions of global transformation.

According to PRNewswire via COMTEX, the Forum's open discussions will be attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev and leaders and ex-leaders of 5 states, 11 active and ex-prime-ministers, 25 active and former ministers as well as 40 heads of international organizations, transnational corporations and business, 12 Nobel laureates and eminent academicians of our time. Among them, Francis Gurry - Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Ming Zhu - Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Sha Zukang - UN Deputy Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs, Jorge Quiroga - Vice-President of the Madrid Club, Ex-President of Bolivia (2001-2002), including the Nobel Laureates in Economics - R.Mundell, R.Aumann, K.Pissarides; politicians: Wim Kok - President of the Madrid Club, ex-Prime-Minister of the Netherlands (1994-2002), Romano Prodi - ex-Prime-Minister of Italy, Tony Blair - ex-Prime-Minister of Great Britain; representatives of business: P.Voser, Chief Executive Officer of the Concern "Royal Dutch Shell", L.Nyberg, President "TeliaSonera", J.Frenkel - Chairman of the Corporation "JPMorgan Chase International".

Total program of the Forum includes more than 40 events in various formats with participation of 5,000 delegates from 80 countries.

One of the most exclusive events of the Forum will be a "Dialogue of the leaders: new financial and economic policy," where the interactive debate on global development issues will be attended by the most senior figures from the spheres of economy, business, politics and mass media.

The next important events will be a permanent conference of finance ministers of CIS countries and the conference "Crisis of existence of an international financial architecture", which will focus on counteractions to regional recessions, as well as development of new mechanisms of financial and economic stability.

In addition, the panel session "Practical application of public-private partnership in the economy of Kazakhstan" will take place. Leading experts from the Great Britain, Japan, Russia, international financial institutions and world consulting agencies have been invited for discussion of a wide range of issues on development of a public private partnership in the field of reconstruction and construction of infrastructure.

The Scientific Congress on a future energy which will focus on development of alternative energy sources there will be during the V AEF. "Energy of Future" is the theme proposed by Kazakhstan for holding of the EXPO 2017 in Astana which will help the republic to attract new technologies for this sector.

The main outcome of the Forum will become traditionally the Open Letter to G-20 countries with recommendations for improvement and development of world economy which will be sent to the organizing committees G-8 and G-20, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, United Nations, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
