Astana holds send-off ceremony of Kazakhstan team to Asian Winter Games 2025
Team Kazakhstan’s send-off ceremony was held at the Olympic Training Center in Astana as they departed for the Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.

The competition is set to run on February 7-14 in Harbin, China.

The event was attended by Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabassynov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alimzhan Akayev, bronze medalist of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, two-time champion of the Asian Games in 1996 Lyudmila Prokasheva, honored short track coach of Kazakhstan Madygali Karsybekov, sports veterans, coaches and public figures.

During the ceremony, Master of sports of Kazakhstan, a bronze medalist of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship, and a winner of the World Youth Ice Hockey Championship Adil Beketayev, and international master of sport, a bronze medalist of the Asian Games 2017 in the women’s 3000m short track relay and World Universiade Olga Tikhonova, who will be flagbearers for the national team, were formally presented with the National Flag of Kazakhstan.
Earlier Kazinform News Agency released the full lineup of Kazakhstan’s team to participate in the upcoming 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin in China.
