Astana hosts Day of Caspian Sea

ANA. August 12. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Astana hosts the Day of Caspian Sea in the City Central Park.  

According to Director of the Department for Enforceability and International Cooperation Alexander Bragin the event is aimed at raising public awareness to the environmental issues of the Caspian Sea.

It should be noted that August, 12 is the day when the Tehran Convention on Marine Environment came into force.

"The Day of the Caspian Sea is marked in five Caspian bordering countries as Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan", - A. Bragin underlined.

 The event was organized by the Caspian Environment Program (CEP) jointly with the Kazakh Ministry of Environment and Ecolight Public Union.
