Astana police officers to learn English for EXPO-2017
"On the threshold of EXPo-2017 great responsibility falls on metropolitan policemen, who have to maintain public order and control criminal situation in the capital city. Along with the mentioned, police officers should learn the English language. This will allow police officers to respond to reports of foreign nationals", the statement reads. Police officers are taking a course in English language from July. The course takes place three times a week in the office with language laboratory equipment in the capital Department of Internal Affairs. Q ualified foreign language teachers use teaching methods aimed at linguistic specificity of police. The second stream of "students" will start learning English in four months. After the course, police officers will pass exams in the form of a test, which will take into account the ability of law enforcement officers to communicate with foreign visitors in English. After passing the examination police officers will receive certificates.
