Astana Pro Team racer M. Iglinskiy finished 2nd in Paris-Nice race (4th stage)
Kazakhstani M.Iglinsky said that the 200-kilometer stage on Thursday had been like a real game of chess which ended with the rapid downhill group of about 30 riders, the official statement reads.
"We were three in the final - Grivko, Gaspé and me. On the descent we have driven forward to monitor all attempts to escape from the group; Grivko first countered and neutralized the first attempt at separation. I started to sprint for 350 meters to go, because it formed a small gap and Grivko shouted me to rip. But in the end it was still a bit too early, and Albazini passed me and won, stayed first in my wheel. I have been quite happy with myself all day, and from the start we knew that it should be our stage ", said Maxim Iglinskiy.
Swiss Michael Albazini won the stage, and Andrey Grivko retained his 2nd position in the general classification, finishing in the first group. Astana Pro Team also leads the team competition, it is specified in the material.
