Astana ready for regular session of CSTO Collective Security Council
The Kazakh capital is ready to host a regular session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective security Treaty Organization, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.
Earlier, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Astana to participate in the regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
The leaders of the countries will exchange views on the international and regional situation and its impact on the CSTO member states' security. They will also discuss the results of cooperation and the prospects for further development of the collective security system.
A number of documents is expected to be signed following the summit, including a statement on the occasion of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
On November 28, Astana will also host a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of the Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO.
