Astana restores tradition of OSCE high-level meeting - N. Nazarbayev

ASTANA. December 1. KAZINFORM /Maria Peshkova/ "According to item one on the agenda I wish to address the heads of state and government, heads of delegations. On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan I welcome the distinguished guests to the OSCE Summit", Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said making a welcome speech at the plenary session of the OSCE Summit in Astana.

"I am grateful to all our partners for their vote of confidence in our country. We have gathered together here in Astana seeking a common sense, common front to the secure future. Now we are moving to a new level of security cooperation from ocean to ocean, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Arctic to the Indian", the Head of the State noted.

The Astana Summit restores the tradition of holding a high level meeting that was interrupted for eleven years after the last one in Istanbul. Today in Astana we are beginning the establishment of the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian community", N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
