Astana's election as EXPO-2017 host confirms high prestige of Kazakhstan: Deputy PM

 PARIS. November 22. KAZINFORM Astana's election as the host city of EXPO-2017 has confirmed high prestige of Kazakhstan in the world.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov told journalists after the results of the voting were declared in Paris.

"More than 100 countries voted for Astana. In 2017 we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Kazakh capital and election of Astana recognizes high prestige of our country in the world," K. Kelimbetov said.

"EXPO will be a good platform where developed countries can share their experience in the field of energy and 'green' technologies and contribute to the development of other countries," he added.

Deputy PM also noted that Kazakhstan once again has proved it can face challenges and host such global events as the EXPO event.
