Astana Summit demonstrates relevance of OSCE principles - Knut Vollebaek

ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The Summit in Astana allows demonstrating that the principles of the OSCE are as relevant as ever for solution of the problems of the 21st century. Knut Vollebaek, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities considers so.

"The meeting of the heads of state and government of 56 OSCE participating states provides a unique opportunity for all countries and political leaders to demonstrate that the OSCE principles based on cooperation and comprehensive security are as relevant as ever for solution of the problems of the 21^st century", Knut Vollebaek said at a press conference at the capital's Shabyt Centre.

The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities congratulated Kazakhstan and President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev on holding such large scale event in Astana.
