Astana Summit to play historic role in further development of OSCE: R. Otunbayeva
"Taking this opportunity I would like to express my gratitude to all of the OSCE participating countries, to Kazakhstan as the chairing country, all of the institutions of the Organization for moral and material help that they provided us with and the humanitarian and technical assistance", she said.
As R. Otunbayeva noted, all efforts and initiatives enabled the country to breathe life into the post-conflict reconstruction of Kyrgyzstan.
2010 has been a year of great changes for Kyrgyzstan, the year of great challenges to unity and statehood of the country. Following the adoption of the new Constitution in June of this year the country organized parliamentary elections, attended by international observers, first and foremost, the OSCE observers. "However, we recognize that democracy is not just about elections. We hope that the success of the parliamentary form of government will depend greatly on the cooperation and information and sharing experience of our country with the participating states of the OSCE", the Kyrgyz President said.
