Astana TB doctors got training in St. Petersburg

ASTANA. November 16. KAZINFORM Four metropolitan specialists from the TB (tuberculosis) hospital have been trained in the walls of the Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology in St. Petersburg, reports Health Department at www.astana.kz.

Within a few weeks the doctors got acquainted with the structure of TB services in the Russian city, management of TB control, organization of the diagnostic and therapeutic process of rehabilitation of patients in TB clinics of St. Petersburg, and they participated in the XVIII Russian National Congress named "Man and his health".

In addition, doctors from Astana have studied the tactics for treating young patients, methods of TB detection, diagnosis, treatment, duration of follow-up, rehabilitation after a full course of treatment. Also, doctors acquainted with the management of patients with tuberculosis of the genitourinary system, the methods of laboratory and instrumental examination of those patients, conducting a recovery period, and also attended the operations that were carried out at the period of their training in the Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology.
