Astana to build National Sports University and 113 new sports facilities
The large-scale stock-taking of the country’s sports facilities revealed a discrepancy with the required standards by 20% on average of the total amount of the current facilities, Kazinform News Agency reports. A list of regions sorely lacking sports infrastructure, especially in rural settlements, will be specified. As a result, "100 rapidly erected low-cost modular sports facilities" project will be launched next year.
113 new sports facilities will be built, 26 will be repaired within two years to come countrywide.
The construction of an Olympic training camp will be completed in Almaty region. It will let 2,300 athletes train simultaneously. The camp will be open year-round.
The National Sports University is being built in the Kazakh capital. It will be commissioned in 2025, it said in a statement.
