Astana to discuss political situation in Asia

ASTANA. March 25. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ During the period from March 27 to March 28 Astana will host the X session of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP). Official Spokesperson of Nur Otan National Democratic Party Oksana Peters has informed at a briefing today, Kazinform reports.

As she noted, the session aims at promotion of cooperation, mutual understanding and trust among the Asian countries through deepening contacts among political parties. ?The agenda of the X session will include discussion of the political situation in Asia, the program of the General Assembly of the Asian Political Parties as well as the intermediate implementation of the decisions of the previous sessions of the Standing Committee. The event will also let the participants to get familiarized themselves with the most important initiatives of President Nursultan Nazarbayev outlined in his recent Address to the Nation ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity? and the speeches at the II Astana Economic Forum?, O. Peters said. As is known, the ICAPP was established in 2000 as a representative forum of political parties of Asia and Oceana. It unites 240 parties from more than 50 countries. Nur Otan NDP is the member of the General Assembly of the ICAAP. Since January 2008 the Party enters the structure of the ICAPP Standing Committee.
