Astana to host Days of Uzbek Films
The Days of Uzbek Films are set to be held at Chaplin cinema in the Kazakh capital of Astana on August 6-7 ahead of a state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the Culture and Information Ministry of Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, the residents and guests of Astana will be offered free screenings of two Uzbek films.
The first one called Abdulla Oripov: The Singer of Independence shot by Muzaffar Erkinov in 2023 tells about the life and creative work of Abdulla Oripov, a prominent poet and author of the State Anthem of Uzbekistan. The film takes the viewers into the world of childhood and youth of Abdulla Oripov, exposing the significant contribution he made to the Uzbek literature and culture.
The second film is Yasha, khotin! (Bravo, wife!) is a comedy about family values. The plot of the film revolves around the main character, who has a feeling of loneliness and abandonment, after he retires. The film highlights the importance of mutual love and care between spouses, parents and children.
To note, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on August 7-8, 2024.
