Astana to unveil 7 new schools this academic year
Seven schools are to be opened in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, throughout this academic year, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the Instagram account of the city’s mayor Zhenis Kassymbek.
Work is ongoing on the construction of infrastructure and social facilities. For instance, seven schools are to be opened throughout this academic year. I’ve familiarized with the construction of educational facilities… Earlier this academic year, four schools were opened, wrote the mayor of the Kazakh capital on his Instagram.
Kassymbek also noted that at the Head of State’s instruction, the national project Comfortable School has been launched in the capital, envisaging construction of 24 comfortable schools (almost 90 school places) in 2024/25. 15 of them are to be situated in the rapidly developing districts Yessil and Nura.
By 2027, a total of 65 schools for 180 thousand places are set to be constructed in Astana. This will help to address the problem of overcrowding schools. All the districts, including residential areas, are to have schools, the Kazakh capital mayor added.
