Over 2 million square meters of housing has been commissioned in Kazakhstan in the first two months of 2024. The figure was 3.4% lower than in the analogous period of 2023, Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov said Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Minister Baibazarov assured members of the Cabinet at the traditional Tuesday meeting that construction sector had experienced a steady rise as the volume of construction works increased by 12.7% countrywide.

18 regions of the country, according to him, have seen positive dynamics with the highest growth of construction works recorded in Zhetysu, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and Pavlodar regions.

“In January-February of this year over 2 million square meters of housing has been commissioned, though the figure is 3.4% lower than in the corresponding period last year. Commissioning of housing has dipped in Ulytau, Mangistau, Atyrau regions as well as Almaty city. Zhetysu region and Astana city have boasted the highest housing commissioning rates,” Minister Baibazarov noted.
