BUENOS-AIRES. December 21. KAZINFORM At least nine people were killed and 25 injured after a passenger bus collided with a truck in the northwest of Venezuela, Globovision television channel reported on Tuesday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The accident took place in the state of Zulia some 600 km (some 373 miles) from the country's capital of Caracas after the passenger bus en route from Valencia to Maracaibo rammed into a truck.

"Nine people were killed in the traffic accident including the driver of the bus. Twenty five people were hospitalized," a spokesman for the rescue service was quoted as saying.

He added that the number of the killed in the accident might grow further as some people were hospitalized with very grave injuries.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the tragic accident; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
