Atomic Energy Agency formed in Kazakhstan

 ASTANA. May 12. KAZINFORM Establishment of the Kazakh Atomic Energy Agency has been  decreed by the Kazakh President  N. Nazarbayev.

N. Nazarbayev ordered to reorganize  the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies into  the Kazakh Atomic Energy Agency with transfer of functions in the field of atomic energy, nuclear and radiological safety, physical protection of nuclear materials and nuclear facilities, as well as compliance of nuclear weapons nonproliferation on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
