Australia's Qantas to get A380s back in the air
SYDNEY. November 23. KAZINFORM Australia's Qantas Airways will start putting the A380s back into service that it grounded after a November 4 engine explosion, dpa reported; Kazinform refers to Trend.
"We're completely comfortable with the operation of the aircraft," chief executive Alan Joyce said Tuesday.
Qantas will have four of its six superjumbos operating by Christmas, with the first service to resume on Saturday from Sydney to London via Singapore.
The A380s would be operating below full power until further notice.
"This is an operational decision by Qantas, and pilots still have access to maximum certified thrust if they require it during flight," Joyce said. "It's not a manufacturer's directive"; Kazinform cites Trend.
