Avalanche alert issued in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Emergency authorities in Almaty city and Almaty region say that there is a possibility of avalanches in the snow laden slopes of local mountains on April 10-13.

Locals and guests should avoid venturing out into those areas.

"It is highly recommended to avoid avalanche prone areas in Almaty city and Almaty region," the statement of the Almaty regional emergency department reads.
