Avalanche alert issued in South Kazakhstan, Almaty regions

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazhydromet, Kazakhstan's national forecaster, says that there is a possibility of avalanches in the snow laden slopes of mountains in South Kazakhstan and Almaty regions on April 12-13.

Locals and guests should avoid venturing out into those areas.

"It is highly recommended to avoid avalanche prone areas in South Kazakhstan and Almaty regions," Kazhydromet's statement reads.
