Axens secures petrochemical deal in Kazakhstan
LONDON. January 8. KAZINFORM JSC KazMunaiGaz will use Axens' ParamaX technology for its proposed petrochemical complex, which it will integrate into the 104,500 b/cd Kazakhoil refinery at Atyrau in Kazakhstan. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The Atyrau refinery processes as much as 5 million tonnes/year of oil from various fields in western Kazakhstan.
When completed, the 629,000 tonnes/year grassroots petrochemical plant, during 2012-13, will produce 496,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene and 133,000 tonnes/year of benzene from naphtha.
JSC Omskneftekhimproekt of Russia is performing the front-end engineering design for the petrochemical complex, Kazinform refers to Oil and Gas Journal.
