Azerbaijan honors Kazakhstani rescuers for their assistance after AZAL plane crash

Azerbaijan awarded a group of Kazakhstanis for their assistance following the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites quoting AZERTAC Agency.

Azerbaijan’s Emergencies Minister Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov awarded Kazakhstani resecures the badge “For Cooperation” for their assistance after the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on December 25, 2024.

The following rescuers were awarded:

Timur Aminov

Kani Aidarov

Saysat Karayev

Mazhit Kenzegaliyev

Azymbek Kulkhanov

Erbol Kuzembayev

Nauryzbek Mendibayev

Ardak Nugumanov

Aiman Tleubergenova

As written before, 69 Kazakhstanis, including locals, health workers, firefighters and first responders who participated in the search and rescue efforts following the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines near Aktau were awarded state awards and letters of appreciation.

The Azerbaijan Airlines plane which was flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau, Mangistau region, on December 25. The plane was carrying 67 people including 5 crew members. 38 people died and 29 survived as a result of the tragedy. Among the victims are six nationals of Kazakhstan.
