Azerbaijan prevents activity of a radical sect
BAKU. November 20. KAZINFORM The activity of a radical religious sect has been ceased in northwestern Azerbaijan; Kazinform refers to Trend.
The operational activities of the Gakh Region Police Department and the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry's Regional Department revealed that Gakhingiloy village resident Mammad Mammadov was engaged in promoting a non-traditional, radical religious sect, the Interior Ministry reported.
The officers searched Mammadov's home on Nov. 18 and found 168 books, 100 pamphlets, and 24 audiotapes and videotapes that are forbidden for dissemination in Azerbaijan. The incident is under investigation.
