Azerbaijani new embassy in Kazakhstan to be situated in Astana's future center

"An agreement was reached to allocate a land plot to build the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kazakhstan on the left bank of the Kazakh capital, which is under construction, during the meeting between Azerbaijani ambassador Zakir Hashimov with Akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov," a representative of the embassy said.

At present, the embassy rents a separate building in the diplomatic town of Astana.

"A new building of the Azerbaijani embassy will be located near the Palace of Independence and the main square of the capital," the source said.

According to the development plan of Kazakh capital, this area will be the center of Astana in the future. Ak-Orda (presidential residence), the U.S. embassy in Kazakhstan, and some other important administrative agencies are situated in this area.

This area of the capital is actively being built.

"After all the arrangements are completed, the Azerbaijani embassy will be built next year. It is planned to be completed within two years" a source said.

After gaining independence and transferring the capital of Kazakhstan from Almaty to Astana, Azerbaijan first opened its embassy in this city, Kazinform refers to Trend News.
