Azerbaijan President Aliyev thanks Kazakh leader Tokayev for brotherly support in Karabakh restoration
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stressed the historic importance of the first meeting of the Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Supreme Interstate Council, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
According to the Azeri leader, the results of the visit of Tokayev and the meeting of the Council will largely define the future agenda of the two countries’ relations.
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are two fraternal states. For many centuries, our peoples have lived in peace, fraternity, and cooperation. In recent years, the dynamics of our mutual visits are very illustrative and demonstrate that the relations are provided with a new thrust. We’repleasedwiththeachievementsofKazakhstan. I’d like to congratulate you and the entire brotherly people of Kazakhstan on the impressive achievement in the social and economic and innovative development. We also talked in detail about the projects that bring us together. I expressed gratitude to the Kazakh President for the brotherly support in restoring Karabakh. The Kurmangazy Center of Children’s Creativity in Fuzuli is a gift of the Kazakhstani people of Azerbaijan and the initiative of Tokayev. Tomorrow, we are to inaugurate the Center, which will also be the center of our friendship. We’re grateful for the words of solidarity in restoring the sovereignty of Azerbaijan. I believe that everyone in Azerbaijan knows that Kazakhstan is our reliable friend and ally, said Aliyev.
The first meeting of Supreme Interstate Council of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan focused on the issues of development of cooperation in trade and economic, investment, oil and gas, transport and logistics spheres as well as RES, digital communications and cultural and humanitarian interaction.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had arrived in Azerbaijan for a state visit. The Kazah leader was greeted at the Zagulba Residence of the Azerbaijan President. Later, President Tokayev held talks with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev.
