Back in action: Kazakhstan’s Diyas skyrockets in WTA Singles Rankings after Wimbledon 2024

Kazakhstani Zarina Diyas, who returned to the WTA Tour this year after a two-year recovery, has notably enhanced her standing in the WTA Singles Rankings, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.

Diyas participated in the qualifying rounds of Wimbledon 2024, but was unsuccessful in advancing to the singles main draw. Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai defeated Kazakhstani in the third round. Prior to this, the Kazakh athlete had achieved a notable victory against the overwhelming favorite, American Sachia Vickery (ranked 138th).

Following her performance at the Wimbledon qualification finals, Zarina achieved a significant increase in her world ranking, climbing 264 spots and securing the 702nd position.

Recall that Zarina Diyas was absent from the court for an extended period due to rehabilitation following a severe injury.
