Baikonur Cosmodrome eyes 9 launches next year
Russia’s Roscosmos presented Kazakhstan the schedule of launches from Baikonur for 2025, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
There are no plans to military spacecraft and missile test launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the Russian side said via diplomatic channels.
In 2025, launches will be carried out under the Russian state program ‘Space Activities of Russia’, international cooperation programs and commercial projects, reads the statement.
The year 2025 is to see six launches under the ISS, including launches of Soyuz TM manned spacecraft with crew on board and Progress MS cargo spacecraft.
Two launches of Proton M heavy launch vehicle with satellites and the launch of Soyuz 2.1b launch vehicle with Bion-M No.2 biological satellite are planned as well.
The Baikonur Cosmodrome is preparing for its final liftoff in the year 2024 of Soyuz 2.1b launch vehicle with the fifth flight unit of Russia’s Resurs P satellite.
Baikonur’s most recent launches include the takeoff of ISS-bound Progress MS 29 cargo spacecraft on November 21, 2024.
