Baikonur new mosque opens doors on the eve of Eid al-Adha

BAIKONYR. November 4. KAZINFORM /Sara Kabikyzy/ The first Friday prayer took place today in a new mosque of Baikonur, unveiled last Wednesday.

Supreme Mufti, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan Sheikh Absattar Hajji Derbisali, Kyzylorda region governor Bolatbek Kuandykov attended the solemn opening ceremony.

The Supreme Mufti congratulated those gathered on this important and welcome event. He expressed gratitude to the Baikonyr city authorities and head of the city administration Alexander Mezentsev for contribution to the construction of the new mosque. Sheikh Absattar Hajji Derbisali also highlighted friendly ties between Kazakh and Russian people and striving of both governments to strengthen spirituality and multiethnic unity of the society.
