Baikonur to launch Turksat 4 A satellite

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey will attend the ceremonial launch of Turksat 4A satellite from Baikonur space centre, Deputy Under-Secretary at the Ministry Suat Hayri Aka told at the meeting with Kazakh Transport and Communications Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev.

Proton-M, equipped with Briz-M booster and carrying TurkSat-4A satellite is scheduled to blast off this February.

Turkish TurkSat-4A telecommunications satellite was built by Japan's Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO) company and is intended to provide direct TV and broadband Internet services to consumers in Turkey, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
