Baiterek Holding boosts agricultural financing by more than 15%

In 10 months of 2024, Baiterek Holding’s agricultural financing stood at 640 billion tenge, which is more than the figure of 2023 by 15.4%, Almas Agibayev, head of the project management department at the Baiterek National Management Holding, said at the KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTIC FORUM 2024, that took place on December 5-6 in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to Agibayev, 319.5 billion tenge, a 128% increase, has been allocated for spring sowing and harvesting campaigns under Ken dala – 1 and Ken dala – 2 programs. 76.2 billion tenge was provided under the new loan guarantee program for agricultural works. Funds for preferential machinery leasing rose to up to 120 billion tenge, a 2.6fold year-over-year increase.

The Holding is to allocate up to 700 billion tenge for spring sowing and harvesting campaigns and up to 200 billion tenge for preferential machinery leasing in 2025.

In 2020/24, the Baiterek Holding provided support for a number of strategic projects in agricultural storage, processing and transportation, including the Smart Agro 2024 LLP project for production and storage of soybeans in Zhetysu region, modernization of the packaged vegetable oil production plant Qazaq Astyq Group LLP in Abai region, construction of the fodder plant Unicorn Feed Limited private company in Akmola region as well as construction of the ALTAI MAI LLP plant for production of refined oils and fats in East Kazakhstan region.

The Holding eyes construction of two plants for deep processing of grain in Astana and Kostanay region as well as development of export agro-industrial clusters in 2025 and 2026.
