Baku hosted 70th meeting of CIS Border Troops Commanders Council

ASTANA. September 12. KAZINFORM - Specific steps on creation of a complete security system at the external borders of the CIS countries have been discussed in Baku at the ended 70th meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders Council and the 29th meeting of the Council on Border Affairs of the EurAsEC member-states.

The meeting covered 7 issues, including priorities of interaction between border services for external border security of the CIS countries, as well as Central Asia and Caspian Sea.

The meeting was focused on the issues to develop proposals to the CIS Heads of States on the use of services of border troops and other organizations for crisis resolution on external borders of the CIS countries, as well as provide emergency assistance to Dushanbe to strengthen border security on Tajik-Afghan border.

The meeting of the CIS Border Troops Commanders Council was held for the third time in Baku and attended by the representatives from 10 countries, the Kazakh delegation was headed by the first deputy director of the Border Patrol - Chief of Staff Colonel Gleb Shkudenko.
