Baurzhan Momyshuly is undoubtedly a great man, skillfully combining the talent of a military leader and writer. Readers learnt about Baurzhan Momyshuly through his famous books ?The Battle for Moscow?, ?Notes of an officer? and were pleased to get to know that in the hero?s archive, there are his other works. I would like to know your opinion about it .
Of course, B. Momyshuly is not only a hero, but a writer who bequeathed a great literature heritage. His works in four volumes in Russian and Kazakh languages found their way into the heart of the reader. So the question about B. Momyshuly's works to be included in thirty volumes, which I am working on, is quite natural.
The new collection will cover B. Momyshuly's manuscripts taken from the RK Central Archive, special military archives of Moscow, the city archives, as well as records kept in the house of the son of the hero. In addition, there are documentary notes made by B. Momyshuly and kept in the personal achives of different people.
When were these manuscripts written?
From 1928 to 1982. This is 54-year life period of the hero.
B. Momyshuly was born on Dec. 24, 1910. This means, he began to write at the age of 18 .
Yes, his writing talent was evident very early. The hero wtites: ?My career started from the position of the rural policeman. Then I devoted my time to literature. In those years, literate, educated young Kazakhs were rather few. We had to be educators, and publishers, writers and editors at the same time?. The hero?s first essay was published in 1928 in Zhualynsk regional newspaper. At that time already one might feel the inner strength and talent of the writer.
Most of B. Momyshuly's works are in Russian. Perhaps this is the influence of the Soviet ideology of that time or the echo of military discipline .
Yes, most of his works are presented in Russian. At that time there were very few writers who could freely write both in Kazakh and Russian languages. Baurzhan was a true son of his people, took to heart his people?s problems.
A lot of books narrate about his exploits. The most well-known is the tale of Alexander Beck «Volokolamskoye Highway» which was translated into the German, Czech, Jewish, English, French and other languages. There are many stories about Bauyrzhan Momyshuly in Kazakh literature. And a lot of films were created in honor of the great defender of homeland.
