Belarus, Kazakhstan agree to cooperate in IT sector

MINSK. March 5. KAZINFORM Memorandum on cooperation in information and communication technologies was signed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Belarus and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.

The document was signed at the Astana-Kazakhstan IT-Forum. The event was organized in line with intergovernmental agreements reached in the course of the official visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich to Kazakhstan in November 2012.

The Belarusian delegation in Astana was headed by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Nikolai Strukov. It also included officials of the Hi-Tech Park administration, representatives of more than 20 IT companies, and the Belarusian Embassy in Kazakhstan, according to BelTA.

The forum participants shared the experience in the field of information and communication technologies and explored the prospects for bilateral cooperation in such segments of the IT industry such as e-government, e-commerce, software development for business and government agencies, and the manufacture of high-tech equipment
