Belarus, Kazakhstan deepen innovation, investment cooperation

MINSK. December 14. KAZINFORM Belarus and Kazakhstan are switching to a new stage of innovation and investment cooperation, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich said at a solemn reception to mark Independence Day of Kazakhstan on 13 December.

The Belarusian official stressed: "There are no unresolved issues between Belarus and Kazakhstan. On the economy, we have moved from purely trading relations to a new stage of innovation and investment cooperation." In his words, the two states enjoy good political relations and continue expanding contacts in the humanitarian and cultural areas. A permanent exchange of the Days of Culture testifies to the fact.

Alexander Mikhnevich emphasized Kazakhstan's increasing role in the international arena. Kazakhstan has recently made great breakthrough in its industrial development. The country plays host to many international forums, BelTA reports.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Ergali Bulegenov, the Belarusian-Kazakhstani relations have been recently gaining momentum. Progress has been made in bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural areas. Today the countries develop scientific cooperation, implement projects in mechanical engineering, healthcare, science and technology. There are 13 assembling plants in Kazakhstan set up jointly with Belarus.

The Kazakhstani diplomat added that the two countries had marked the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2012. Thanks to the political will and friendship between the leaders of Belarus and Kazakhstan the two countries have reached a lot in bilateral cooperation.
