Belarus, Kazakhstan discuss political and economic ties

MINSK. March 7.KAZINFORM Belarus-Kazakhstan ministerial consultations were held in Astana on 5-6 March to discuss ways to step up bilateral cooperation in politics, trade and economy, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus reported.

Belarus was represented by First Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Mikhnevich; Kazakhstan's delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Samat Ordabayev.

The sides discussed progress in implementing high-level and highest-level agreements, preparations for high-level and highest-level meetings scheduled for 2013.

The Foreign Ministry of Belarus and the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan signed a cooperation plan for 2013-2014.

When in Astana Alexander Mikhnevich met with Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov to discuss bilateral cooperation and interaction within the framework of integration associations and international organizations, Kazinform refers to BelTA

Alexander Mikhnevich held talks with Co-Chairman of the Belarus-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, the Emergencies Minister of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko to discuss trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The previous round of ministerial consultations was held in Minsk in February 2012.
