Belarus, Kazakhstan intend to double trade in the next few years
According to the diplomat, there is every reason to believe that in the coming years the bilateral trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan will be doubled: "This is real. There is the interest on both sides, mutual understanding, and the integration in the Customs Union."
Ergali Bulegenov stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with Belarus: "In recent years, the bilateral cooperation has been increasingly vibrant on all fronts and at all levels. Kazakhstan has significant interest in Belarus' achievements in agriculture, industry, health, science and other areas."
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also noted the opportunities for developing cooperation within the framework of the Single Economic Space and the future of Eurasian Economic Union. Work is currently underway on the draft treaty to establish the union.
Ergali Bulegenov also said that this autumn Belarus will host a regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which is an important and effective mechanism in the development of bilateral cooperation.
Today Kazakhstan is home to 13 joint facilities that assemble Belarusian equipment. The parties also plan to create a Kazakh-Belarusian industrial and technological park for farm machines and municipal vehicles in Kokshetau, BelTA reports.
Given Kazakhstan's plans to ramp up the production of oil and gas condensate, Ergali Bulegenov did not rule out involving Belarusian companies in this process. "Oil and gas are special industries. The competition is always very tense. There are world leaders in this area. Now everything is settled on a tender basis. If the conditions are suitable, everyone can participate. I know that there are good Belarusian companies. They need to get involved," the diplomat said.
