Leonid Zayats and Sergei Sidorsky talked over the joint actions that national government agencies and the Eurasian Economic Commission have to take to complete the formation of a common market of agricultural goods. The current practice of compiling interstate indicative balances of agricultural raw materials and food was evaluated. It was noted that without proper regulations to use the instrument to balance the agrarian market of the three countries it evolves into a lever to put pressure on suppliers of agricultural goods.

The sides decided to revisit the need to form the forecast food balances during the discussion of the concept for the coordinated agrarian policy and the international agreement on the coordinated agribusiness policy. At the same time the sides welcomed the formation of indicative forecasts of interregional supplies of industrial goods, noted the press service.

The sides also discussed matters concerning ways to ensure veterinary security due to the need to fulfill the obligations undertaken by Russia during the accession to the WTO. The problem of providing veterinary certificates for ready-made food products was discussed.

Mr Valery Koreshkov, Eurasian Economic Commission Minister for Technical Regulations, took part in the discussion. Leonid Zayats confirmed the view voiced earlier, which states that the level of veterinary control must be maintained due to the spreading African swine fever. Over 50% of the loci of the disease are related to the nutritional chain of the disease propagation. Sergei Sidorsky and Valery Koreshkov decided to continue consultations with national state administration agencies in the sphere of agribusiness for the sake of working out the final view on the matter.
