Berlin hosts talks of the Kazakh-German Business Council for Strategic Coop
Kazakh-German Business Council for Strategic Cooperation discussed the whole range of issues in the context of the provisions of the President's Address to the Nation "Kazakhstan's way - 2050: common goal, common interests, common future" aimed at further expanding and deepening cooperation between the two countries in economic, trade, raw materials, industrial, technology, innovation and investment areas. One of the important items on the agenda of the round table was consideration of "Nazarbayev-Merkel" initiative on the introduction of the German model of dual education in Kazakhstan and training of professional and technical personnel. Furthermore, the parties have expressed interest in projects in the field of energy efficiency, ecology, renewable energy, innovation as well as in the areas of transportation, automotive, agriculture, and tourism. Following the event there have been approved important practical arrangements for the implementation of priority joint projects aimed at modernization and industrialization of Kazakhstan's economy and attraction of German investment to the domestic market. The Kazakh delegation was represented by members of ministries and departments, the Chamber of Commerce, national and private companies. The German delegation included representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the heads of major German economic associations as well as German companies implementing priority projects in Kazakhstan. The Kazakh-German Business Council for Strategic Cooperation was established during the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Astana in July 2010 and acts as a coordinating body destined to improve business relations between economic associations of Kazakhstan and Germany. Three meetings were held alternately in Kazakhstan and Germany so far.
