Bibigul Tulegenova's legacy inspires generations - President
Kazakhstan’s legendary opera singer, actress and teacher Bibigul Tulegenova celebrated her 95th birthday on December 16, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dossayev congratulated the singer on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Ministry of Culture and Information says.
In his letter of congratulation, the Head of State underlines unique and outstanding contribution of Bibigul Tulegenova to the development of national culture of Kazakhstan, noting that her legacy inspires generations and serves as a symbol of pride.
"A long and fruitful creative path has brought you to the heights of recognition. You left a rich legacy in the gold fund of our country and raised talented, worthy students. Your enormous work has been marked by high state awards, honorary titles and special distinctions, which proves the recognition of your merits,” the letter reads.
Bibigul Tulegenova expressed her gratitude for warm wishes and congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on Independence Day.
On the same day, Astana hosted a festive concert in honor of the 95th anniversary of Bibigul Tulegenova. The event was organized by the Qazaqconcert with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
On November 17, Astana Opera hosted a concert to honour legendary Bibigul Tulegenova on her 95th anniversary. The concert, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, became a musical tribute from Astana Opera to the outstanding opera singer.
