Big power-infrastructure project to be implemented in East-Kazakhstan
The launch of the project meets the tasks of the new economic policy of Kazakhstan - "Nurly Zhol". Development of the energy infrastructure is among seven priorities announced by the Head of State and it would allow to create balanced energy supply all the regions of the country.
Construction of the high voltage line will allow to connect northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan as well as expand existing opportunities for industrial development.
Construction of the 500 KW high voltage line Ekibastuz-Semey-Ust-Kamenogorsk with the length of 705 km and the cost of 45 billion tenge consists of eight stages.
The project implementation is coordinated by "KEGOC" JSC.
As was earlier reported, the power lines of the northern, eastern and southern regions of the country are planned to be merged into one by 2018. Besides, it was planned to build the 500 KW high voltage transit line connecting North, East and South. The cost of the project is about 120 billion tenge.
