Bike ride «The Sun Trip: On the Way to Astana «EXPO-2017» kicked off in Savoy, France

ASTANA. July 3. KAZINFORM A bike ride on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Astana city has brought together 300 people in the Kazakh capital amid poor weather conditions today, Kazinform has learnt from JSC "NC "Astana EXPO-2017".

A bicycle parking was unveiled next to the building of the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry in Astana today as well.

"One of the reasons to open the bicycle parking facility is the preparations for the upcoming International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 under the topic "Energy of the Future". It symbolizes the fact that the Ministry supports such relevant issues as energy conservation, greening of economy, development of alternative energy sources," noted Foreign Affairs Minister Erlan Idrissov at the unveiling ceremony.

Vice Chairperson of JSC "NC "Astana EXPO-2017" Akmaral Omarova, in turn, congratulated the participants on the start of a new bicycle season. She especially stressed that a bike ride "The Sun Trip: On the Way to Astana "EXPO-2017" kicked off in Savoy, France this June.

"30 participants of that bike ride will arrive in Astana in August. We will arrange another bike ride in in the capital upon their arrival, added A. Omarova.
