Bodies of 3 people killed in building explosion in Kostanay recovered

The rescue efforts at the site of the explosion in the Amangeldi residential building in Kostanay city have been completed, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

Today, at 12:36 am, a one-storey building collapsed reportedly as a result of a gas-air mixture explosion in Kostanay city.

263 emergency services personnel and 61 equipment units were involved in the fire fighting and search and rescue works.

The volunteer groups DOS and the Region 10 Red Crescent were also engaged.

As a result of the search and rescue works, 12 people were saved. The bodies of three people were recovered from the rubble of the collapsed building.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
