Bolashak scholarship available again for winners of international subject olympiads

Kazakhstani school graduates - winners of international school subject olympiads and competitions – will be able to pursue bachelor’s degree studies abroad under the Bolashak Presidential Scholarship Program, Kazinform News Agency reports.

 Appropriate amendments to some legislative acts on culture, education and mentorship were approved today at the Senate’s session.

“As per the law, the winners of international school subject olympiads and competitions will be provided with university grants and an opportunity to undergo bachelor’s degree courses abroad under the Bolashak program. These measures are aimed at increasing young people’s aspiration to knowledge and support of talented youth,” senator Assem Rakhmetova says.

Since 2011, Bolashak scholarship seekers have been applying for master’s degree, PhD and research traineeships only, as bachelor's degree programs were halted.
