Book titled 'Astana' - Famous people speak about capital of Kazakhstan

ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM - Today at the National Academic Library there was held a presentation of the book titled "Astana", dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Kazakhstan's capital.

This is a collection of journalistic material published in the newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan" in 1994. The book begins with the decision of the Supreme Council "On transfer of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and ends with an exclusive interview with the President of Kazakhstan, which was published on May 29, 2013 in the pages of major newspapers of the country.

"This is a record of the origin, formation and progress of Astana, narrated by pen-known public figures, statesmen and journalists. They tell a reader how Astana over the years has gained appearance of one of the young and famous capitals of the world, " says in an interview with the president of "Republican newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan" JSC Sauytbek Abdrahmanov.

Authors of the book are really significant: Kasymzhomart Tokayev, Abish Kekilbayev, Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, Karim Massimov, Umirzak Shukeyev, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Kuanish Sultanov, Oral Mukhamedjanov, Tumanbai Moldagaliev, Kakimbek Salykov, Fariza Ongarsynova, Akim Tarazi, Garifolla Yesim and others.

The book has been published in 1000 copies and distributed free to libraries of the country.
