Brazilian president-elect to attend G20 summit
BRASILIA. November 1. KAZINFORM Brazilian President-elect Dilma Rousseff will attend the upcoming G20 summit with outgoing president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, state media reported, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Planning Minister Paulo Bernardo, quoted by the Brazilian official news agency, confirmed the arrangement on Monday after a meeting with Lula and Rousseff on Sunday night.
At the meeting of the G20 economies in Seoul, Lula will reiterate his government's call for concerted international efforts to prevent currency wars, he added.
Before the summit, Lula and Rousseff will pay a visit to Mozambique, said the minister.
Rousseff, 62, won a presidential runoff on Sunday, and is scheduled to take over the presidency on Jan. 1, 2011.
On her way to become the first female president of South America's largest nation, Rousseff pledged to continue the legacy of the extremely popular Lula, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
