Breaking news: One of the suspects wanted for complicity in Atyrau terrorist acts detained

ATYRAU. November 5. KAZINFORM /Andrei Sokolov/ Last night in Atyrau was detained Alimzhan Sagenov, 1983, one of the suspected persons of complicity in October 31 terrorist attacks put on the wanted list.

According to the informed sources at the law enforcement agencies, the suspect was detained in one of the apartments on Azattyk Street by the members of the special operations task force set up after the Atyrau explosions.

There is still no official information about another suspect of complicity in attacks put on the wanted list Meirambek Ussabekov.

As earlier reported, two explosions occurred in Atyrau in the morning of October 31. The first blast was on the Kulmanov Street. Later 24-year-old Baurzhan Sultangaliyev, a native of Atyrau, blew himself up near a five-storey residential building.

Two criminal cases were initiated over the explosions occurred on October 31 in Atyrau under Article 233, Part 2, Item B of the Kazakh Criminal Code - terrorism with the use of explosive devices.

The Jund al Khilafah, or Soldiers of the Caliphate, claimed credit for the blasts. It earlier warned the government in connection with the adoption of the religious law.
